What I Did for My Summer Vacation

I was just thinking of an old song from my camp days “The summers fly by, but the winters drag on...”

This summer does seem to have flown by in the blink of an eye! (And I seem to have forgotten I even have a blog!)

Hard to believe it's August and summer will be officially over in a few weeks.

It was a hot July, but now it seems like autumn. The oriental maple tree down the road is already turning orange.

We have stayed fairly close to home for the most part, because we are plotting and saving for Storm's 40th birthday at the end of the month!

I intend to take him on quite an exciting adventure! (Here's a hint)

I've gone on some small artist dates here and there throughout the summer to keep the creative well brimming:

Samoa Beach from the back of my pick-up truck
Poppies in the garden at Sequoia Park

Feeding the seagulls at the Marina

And we went to the Rodeo Carnival together!

I used to love rides, but now it seems that all I can handle is the ferriswheel!

How about you?

What did you do for your summer vacation?
