So Much to be Grateful For!

Experiment in Gratitude

I spent the day
Keeping a list of things
That I feel grateful for:
Hot running water and toilets that flush
A car that starts
Means oh so much
All are miracles
In so many ways
The computer and the telephone
Without them I'd be so alone
Glasses that allow my eyes to see
And arms to hold
My pets to me
Hands that work
So craftily
And a body that goes on
Despite my mistakes
A heart that recovers
After it breaks
Smiles given
And love received
The simple things
Are all I need
And I could spend every moment
For the rest of my time
Makings this list
Of gifts divine
And never even make a dent
In all God has done
And all that it's meant.
