Here Comes the Sun!

For the past few years, I've been collecting daily miracles...just little good happenings that remind me of God's love and care. My miracle for today was that I awoke to a happy surprise with an email from DJ Ryan Lee! I have mentioned him many times throughout the years as someone who inspires me deeply. He is a jazz DJ, and I love to listen to his show while making art. He retired from a long-held position as the DJ for The Jazz Underground Show on KHUM last October, and my creativity has suffered ever since. He is a DJ, but he's also so much more to me...
You see, for over a decade I listened to his show every Tuesday night while doing art. When he left, we still listened to jazz and did art, but it just wasn't as magical or meaningful as when Ryan Lee was curating the journey for us with tunes that were perfect in every moment. I realized when he left that I came to depend upon his magic, and that's probably not a good thing...for he will not always be here. Months have passed without finding any semblance of a replacement for my jazz/art journeys, and my creative projects have languished. In fact, I've been rather depressed...because I realized that when I am painting wildly, lost in the music he spins and swirling in the universal river of creativity: that is when I am at my happiest. That is when I am the most me.
I asked him to let me know if he ever got a new show, and he wrote to say he will be filling in for a jazz show at KHSU on Mon. and Tues. nights from 8-10,PST. He's hoping it will eventually pan out to be a regular gig for him. I thought I would put the word out in case you want to feel the magic for yourself.
